The CEVAXIN Symposium was held on September 28th at the Panama Marriott Hotel, within the framework of the XIX National Congress of Science and Technology organized by the Panamanian Association for the Advancement of Science (APANAC) 2023.
The opening of the Symposium was in charge of our Executive and Scientific Director at CEVAXIN, Dr. Rodrigo DeAntonio, who gave way to a full agenda that would address topics on Advances in the Clinical Development of New Immunization Strategies.
We count on the masterful presentations of distinguished national and international researchers:
1. Dr. Ralph Clemens - Clinical Vaccine Development in Latin America: A Success Story.
2. Dr. Dora Estripeaut - Clinical Vaccine Research in Panama.
3. Dr. Eduardo López - Dengue immunization strategies.
4. Dr. Rolando Pajón - mRNA vaccines: present and future.
5. Dr. Astrid Borkowski - Perspective of norovirus immunization to prevent gastroenteritis.
6. Dr. Octavio Ramilo - Immunization strategies against respiratory syncytial virus.
7. Dr. Sue Ann Costa Clemens - Conducting clinical trials during a pandemic: What should vaccine experts consider for global health impact?
8. Dr. Osvaldo Reyes - Vaccine research during pregnancy.
9. Dr. Xavier Sáez Llorens - New investigational vaccine platforms: The future of vaccinology.
This was followed by a Q&A session in which the scientific community that participated in the Symposium was able to interact with each of the researchers.
The Symposium served as a framework to celebrate 10 years of CEVAXIN, a milestone that reflects a decade of commitment and excellence in research and health promotion through vaccination in Panama and the world.
